Large crowd welcomes Amel Tuka at Sarajevo Airport

A welcome ceremony was held at Sarajevo International Airport for Bosnian athlete Amel Tuka, a native of Kakanj, who recently achieved victories at some of the most significant competitions, the most important being the Diamond League, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Tuka was surprised by the warm welcome, and besides family members and friends, a large number of citizens from Kakanj and Sarajevo came to greet Tuka.

Incidentally, a ceremonial welcome is being prepared in Kakanj, where they have been awaiting his arrival for several days. It is expected that several thousand people will be on the streets of Kakanj.

- I am ready for new challenges, and the next goal is the final of the World Championships in Beijing. I expected to meet the standard for the World Championships and the Olympic Games, but the result with which I broke the record in Monte Carlo surprised even me - said Tuka.
