Large number of hotels in Ilidža municipality: Steady growth in tourist overnight stays

The municipality of Ilidža has been leading in the Sarajevo Canton for many years in terms of tourist arrivals and overnight stays, and is among the top in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the first ten months of 2016, the Sarajevo Canton registered 315,653 guest arrivals, who realized 667,065 overnight stays. Of these, Ilidža registered 100,227 guests who realized 215,707 overnight stays, it was announced from the Municipality of Ilidža, reports Patria.

There are 23 accommodation facilities available in the area of the Ilidža municipality (18 hotels, two motels, one guesthouse, a women's student dormitory, and a hotel complex with a campsite) with a total of 1,623 rooms and 3,510 beds, which represents one third of the total accommodation capacities in the Sarajevo Canton.

A series of construction investments in tourist facilities that were put into operation during this year have further strengthened Ilidža's position and offer on the tourist map of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some of the facilities include the "Oaza" hotel complex, the "Hoteli Ilidža" d.d. hotel-spa-recreation company, the "Hills" hotel with the "Kinderland" children's playroom within "Mrkulić kompany". The construction of the "Malak Regency" hotel is underway, with 174 luxury rooms and 379 beds, two conference halls, a wellness and spa center, and two restaurants.

With the opening of Hotel Krone, a building constructed at the beginning of the last century, back in 1907, 26 accommodation units have been renovated.

In the area of the Ilidža municipality, two locations stand out as interesting to tourists and are recording a steady increase in visits: Vrelo Bosne and the Tunnel of Hope D-B.
