Major damage in the municipality of Jablanica, risk of torrents still present

(Patria) - The municipal mayor and commander of the Jablanica Civil Protection staff, Damir Šabanović, and the Assistant Mayor in the Civil Protection service of the Jablanica municipality, Omer Nezirić, during the day (on Friday, November 5, 2021) as conditions allowed, visited a large part of the local areas of the Jablanica municipality with the aim of assessing the consequences of the major natural disaster that has been ongoing for two days and has caused enormous damage to private and public buildings, infrastructure, and commercial facilities.

Although it is too early to draw conclusions because the danger of torrents and floods has not ceased, it is evident that the damage is enormous. A particular problem is landslides in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings in Žuže, Ostrožac, Šabančići, Dobrinja.
During the day, all available machinery was in the field, everything that could be repaired was being repaired, roads and communications were being cleared, and regular electricity supply was restored in the settlements that had been cut off: Dobrigošće, Gradac, Gornje Paprasko. Citizens, for their part, helped normalize the situation on both private and communal facilities.

The situation is also difficult in Konjic, Blagaj, where rivers overflowed due to rainfall and unregulated riverbeds. 

A particularly difficult situation is in Sarajevo in the municipalities of Ilidža, Novi Grad, where rivers have overflowed.
