Major traffic jams on Sarajevo's main road

(Patria) - Morning traffic jams were recorded this morning on Sarajevo's main road. Especially from Marijin Dvor towards the city center.

New works being carried out on the main road from Skenderija have caused major traffic jams.

On the section from Radićeva to the Ćumurija bridge, where a temporary asphalt layer was previously laid at the contractor's expense, work was carried out to remove that layer and lay the final asphalt layer.

We remind you that the renovation in Obala Kulina Bana street is part of the road renovation from Skenderija to Vječna vatra. The works started in July 2024, and the deadline for completion is three years.

The first phase of reconstruction was from Skenderija to Radićeva street, the second phase is from Ćumurija bridge to Vijećnica, and the third phase is from Vijećnica to Vječna vatra. The total length of all three sections is 2.8 kilometers. Pedestrian areas and tram stops will be reconstructed on this occasion.

The value of the works is 6.5 million KM, and the money is secured from the cantonal budget. The mentioned road was last reconstructed 18 years ago.
