Big celebration in Breza: Democracy, inclusion, and fun in one place

(Patria) - Breza today lived inclusion, culture, and fun.

Organized by the Public Institution Center for Children and Adults with Special Needs, the central event marking Children's Week in the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) was held.

The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees of ZDC, with support from the Municipality of Breza and the Association Youth Center DESNEK from Breza.

Students from secondary and primary schools in Breza, kindergarten children, and users of day care centers in ZDC and the Institute for the Care of Mentally Disabled Children and Youth Pazarić enjoyed video and acting workshops, a music program, and a magician's skills.

Anel Cerović, a resident of the Institution for the Care of Children without Parental Care Hum from Sarajevo, delighted the audience with his performance. This boy hinted that he could be the next big music star, and the entire hall sang along with him to the hits of Dino Merlin, Tajči, Kemal Monteno, and Amira Medunjanin.

Secondary school students presented the Mayor of Breza Municipality, Vedad Jusić, with a letter drafted during debate workshops, requesting solutions for the stray dog problem and heating in the workshops where they do their practical training.

"This is a good example of how important it is for the local community to have open communication with its citizens. It is our obligation to try to solve this problem in cooperation with other competent institutions, and I believe that these wonderful young people will contribute to our joint efforts in finding solutions," said Jusić.

He congratulated the youth on Children's Week and wished them enough courage and determination to fight for solutions to the problems that trouble them.

The Minister of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees of ZDC, Antonio Šimunović, also addressed the attendees, stating that the messages from the youth of Breza have been heard by the Government of ZDC and that he believes "our colleagues whose departments are responsible for this issue will respond positively to this appeal".

"For years, in cooperation with the Public Institution Center for Children and Adults with Special Needs of ZDC, we have been celebrating Children's Week, and I must emphasize that they do a really good job and that events are organized in all parts of ZDC," Šimunović pointed out.

Members of the Pop Rock School from Bugojno provided entertainment for all generations, preserving the great hits from the former Yugoslavia from oblivion.
