Velež defeated Leotar in Trebinje

(Patria) - Velež defeated Leotar as a guest in Trebinje with a score of 3:1 in the first match of the 18th round of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first 15 minutes of the match brought absolutely no excitement, and it was immediately clear that this would be a very tough match with many fouls.

Leotar took the lead from their first chance of the game. It was the 17th minute when Zajmović committed a foul in the penalty area, and referee Admir Šehović pointed to the spot.

Dejan Maksimović took responsibility for the penalty. He confidently scored to give the home team a 1:0 lead.

Velež equalized just two minutes later. Marko Perišić sent an own goal from Salčin's free-kick to make it 1:1.

The team from Mostar then had several attempts towards the goal. Mostly, they were inaccurate shots, and Peco had the best chance, but his shot was saved by Risto Perišić.

On the other hand, Leotar had a chance through Todorović, but Bogdanović saved it, and it remained 1:1 after the first half, which saw as many as 28 fouls.

The opening minutes of the second half also did not offer too much excitement. The poor pitch further hampered the game, but from the 65th minute, the team from Mostar started pushing hard towards Leotar's goal.

After several solid attempts, the 69th minute brought a lot of excitement. First, Radovac hit the post, and then in the continuation of the action, Dženan Zajmović scored to give Velež a 2:1 lead.

Pršeš put the final touch on this match in the 89th minute. Brandao escaped the defense, his shot was saved by Perišić, but the ball reached Pršeš, who scored to make it 3:1.

That was the final score of the match, and the team from Mostar secured a valuable three points that at least move them away from the danger zone, and ended their two-month winless streak of five league games.
