Vedran Mulabdić new Minister of Interior of Sarajevo Canton

Delegates in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly supported the appointment of Vedran Mulabdić (SBB) as Minister of Interior of Sarajevo Canton with 22 votes in favor, two against, and three abstentions, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Mulabdić took the solemn oath, after which congratulations followed from delegates and ministers in the Sarajevo Canton Government.

Vedran Mulabdić was born in 1976 in Sarajevo. He was employed as a senior expert associate for general security at the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he has been working since 2006.

In the period from August to December 2006, he worked in the Sector for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From 2004 to 2006, he was employed at the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, and for several years he also worked on the protection of people and property. He completed both primary and secondary school in Sarajevo. In 2003, he earned a higher education degree from the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology, and Security Studies at the University of Sarajevo, and in 2005, a university degree.

He defended his master's thesis on the topic "The Role of Intelligence Services in Modern Diplomacy" in 2015 at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo.

From September 2005 to March 2006, he attended basic police training at the Police Academy in Vrace, where he received the rank of junior inspector. He is fluent in English and has a passive knowledge of German.

Mulabdić was the coordinator of the Election Security Committee during the election processes in 2010, 2012, and 2014. He is also one of the authors of the Manual for Community Policing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a member of the Working Group for developing Guidelines for data collection in the field of juvenile delinquency in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
