Greater cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of BiH and the USA

The signing of the Agreement on Procurement and Mutual Provision of Services between the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Defence of the United States of America was held today at the Ministry of Defence of BiH, and it was signed on behalf of the MoD BiH by Minister Marina Pendeš, and on behalf of the MoD USA by senior military official and US Defense Attaché to BiH Brigadier Scott Miller, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

This is an Agreement that ensures reciprocal logistical support between the parties to the Agreement, which is primarily used in combined exercises, training, deployments, operations, and other joint activities.

In logistical terms, the Agreement improves the readiness and efficiency of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of BiH through enhanced logistical cooperation. The signing of the Agreement represents a direct contribution to cooperation between BiH and the USA on security issues, in the field of maintenance and procurement, as well as the interoperability of the armed forces of the two countries.

The signing of the Agreement significantly contributes to the readiness of the AF BiH to carry out their mission, as well as the quality of our timely response in cases of unforeseen circumstances and critical situations in which, thanks to this agreement, we can ensure logistical support, resources, or services in the shortest possible time.

On this occasion, Brigadier Miller emphasized that this agreement is yet another example of the USA's commitment to providing all necessary support to BiH on its NATO integration path.

The United States of America concludes agreements of the same or similar content with partners around the world, and today's agreement succeeded a similar document from 2004, which was in force until mid-2015. It is important to note the fact that the new Agreement on Procurement and Mutual Provision of Services between the Ministry of Defence of BiH and the Ministry of Defence of the United States of America was signed for an indefinite period, with no expiration date.
