Important Notice: Children in Sarajevo Canton will continue attending kindergartens even if parents did not make a reservation via EMIS

(Patria) - The Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton has issued a notice for parents and guardians who failed to reserve a place for their children in preschool institutions for June 2023.

It states that the Ministry today submitted an act on Amendments and Supplements to the Instruction on enrollment of children in preschool institutions for the 2023/2024 school year to all preschool institutions in Sarajevo Canton. This act enables EMIS staff of preschool institutions to enroll children in educational groups for the 2023/2024 school year, for children of parents who did not make a reservation in June 2023, no later than August 13 this year.

- Accordingly, we inform all parents/guardians who did not fulfill this obligation in June 2023 through the EMIS-preschool system, that their children will continue to use the services of the preschool institution they have been attending so far in the next school year - the Ministry announced.

As they added, parents/guardians of these children will be contacted by preschool institutions via email, phone or SMS to confirm the continuation of children's stay in the next school year. The Ministry has informed preschool institutions about this change and is monitoring the reservation approval process.

Parents of children who failed to make a reservation in June 2023 are required to submit to the kindergarten their child attends a personally signed document confirming the continuation of stay in the 2023/2024 school year, no later than August 31, the Press and Protocol Service of Sarajevo Canton announced.
