"Fiery" Turkish deputies fight again in parliament

In the Turkish parliament, there was another brawl between supporters and opponents of the controversial security bill, which would strengthen police powers during searches and arrests, reports the Patria news agency.

In anticipation of the debate on this bill, deputies from the ruling party and the opposition clashed, with one opposition deputy even falling down the stairs, reports AFP.

These scenes resembled those from Tuesday night into Wednesday, when five deputies were injured in clashes over the same bill, two of whom sustained head injuries.

Before the latest brawl in parliament, opposition representatives made demands unrelated to the agenda for a full three hours, trying to delay the start of the debate, the Hurriyet newspaper reported.

The Turkish opposition fears that the mentioned bill, proposed by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government, could lead to the creation of a police state under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
