The fire that engulfed Mount Varda between Višegrad and Rudo has been brought under control, but is still active.
The RS Civil Protection confirmed to the news agency Patria that the fire currently does not threaten villages, but that firefighters and forestry workers are on 24-hour standby.
For several days, inaccessible parts of Varda, overgrown with dense forest, have been burning, which are practically impossible to reach.
Several other fires are also active in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are also under control of firefighters - smoldering near Trebinje, Mount Prenj and Hum near Mostar..., writes NAP.
