Varaždin: Arsenal of weapons found with two men

VARAŽDIN - Intervention police officers of the Varaždin Police Department, as part of a planned criminal investigation, found a whole arsenal of pistols and rifles with ammunition, as well as other explosives, with two men from the Varaždin area, both aged 41, reports jutarnji.hr, relayed by the BiH news agency Patria.

Intervention police officers found as many as 20 pistols, 16 automatic pistols, and 9 automatic rifles with corresponding magazines and ammunition, as well as 2.8 kilograms of explosives and 30 hand grenades in the personal vehicle used by the arrested men. Later, their homes were searched, and another homemade pistol and rifle, as well as several dozen rounds of ammunition, were found.

Several dozen silencers and 12 laser sights were also found, suggesting that the weapons were intended for organized crime or even terrorism.

After the criminal investigation, the two men were handed over to the detention supervisor of the Varaždin Police Department with a criminal complaint for illegal possession, manufacture, and acquisition of weapons and explosives, and the criminal investigation in this case is ongoing.
