State of Emergency in Mostar: City Streets Flooded

A state of emergency is in effect in Mostar due to heavy rainfall, and the main entrance to the city has been literally torn up by construction work, as witnessed by numerous residents of Mostar, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Driving cars across streets full of puddles is a real adventure, and there have been numerous cases where cars have remained „trapped“ in puddles, causing the engine to stall. The Sjeverni logor entrance is literally flooded.

- The alternative exit from the city under the underpass near the railway station has collapsed. There is a blockage, and movement is impossible in either direction. Sirens, nerves, and curses – describe the residents of Mostar today’s situation in the city.

Many drivers complain that there are no police on the ground. Water is gushing from city manholes due to blockages, and the rain that is falling further complicates the situation.
