Waqf Directorate donates 35,000 KM for the construction of the "Parents' House"

Director of the Waqf Directorate of the Islamic Community in BiH, Dr. Senaid Zajimović, will today hand over 35,000 KM on behalf of the Directorate for the construction of the "Parents' House" in Sarajevo, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The Islamic Community of BiH, through the Waqf Directorate, has been involved in the project since the very beginning of the construction of the "Parents' House", and in addition to today's installment, they have provided more than 150,000 KM so far. As announced by Dr. Zajimović, the Islamic Community will support the construction of the facility until its completion, and he invites citizens to join them.

The Parents' House, whose construction is in full swing within the Pediatric Clinic Jezero, will serve to accommodate parents and children suffering from some form of cancer, who come for therapy from other cities in BiH, and this house will significantly ease their fight for life.

- This is a project for all of us, for the entire community. The Islamic Community is helping it because of all the sick children, regardless of their religious affiliation - Zajimović told Patria.

Fikret Kubat, director of the association "Heart for Children suffering from Cancer in FBiH", previously told the news agency Patria that between 50 and 60 children are diagnosed with cancer in the Federation of BiH every year. The majority of these children come from outside Sarajevo, so the construction of the "Parents' House" will represent a great financial relief for their parents.

- Most of these children come for treatment from outside Sarajevo, from all parts of BiH, and it is very important that they have a place to stay while they are in Sarajevo, because the costs of accommodation are often the biggest expenses paid by parents of sick children - said Kubat.

The Parents' House in Sarajevo will have a total of 666 square meters, including a basement, ground floor, and three floors, which will contain a total of ten apartments and other accompanying facilities. Citizens who wish to help this humanitarian project can also get involved in its construction.
