Vahid Halilhodžić officially Japan's coach

Vahid Halilhodžić, a Bosnian football expert, is officially the new coach of Japan as of today, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The 62-year-old expert has been negotiating with the Japanese for several months, and he has replaced the Mexican Javier Aguirre in this position. Ivica Osim recommended him to the JFA.

Halilhodžić coached the Ivory Coast and Algeria, with whom he participated in the World Cup in Brazil. He also managed several clubs, including PSG, Dinamo Zagreb, Velež, and Trabzonspor.

According to information, Halilhodžić is expected to arrive in Japan by March 27, when Japan plays a friendly match against Tunisia, and four days later against Uzbekistan.
