HORROR IN KALESIJA Under the pretext that it is not in accordance with 'Sharia law', she arranged a grave and committed unprecedented vandalism

KALESIJA, (Patria) - Ševala Alić from Kalesija has long been trying to arrange her mother's grave, but the MIZ Kalesija does not allow her to do so because they have their own rules, and they even destroyed the arranged grave!
There were no excessive reactions to the unprecedented vandalism, and neighbors only whisper about it.

As Alić told us, following the example of graves with tombstones and surrounding areas in Sarajevo, Travnik, and Mostar, she arranged her mother's grave, but someone solved the legal problems with a sledgehammer and a pickaxe!

"I am encountering insurmountable obstacles from MIZ Kalesija. I ordered the tombstones with the surrounding area from the stonecutter Čamdžić Zehrudin in Prnjavor-Kalesija. On that occasion, he told me that before placing the tombstones and the surrounding area, I should talk to the person in charge at MIZ Kalesija."

To that end, I held talks at MIZ Kalesija. Their response was "that what I am asking for is not in accordance with the MIZ Kalesija Rulebook," says Alić.

After that, she turned to the Mufti of Tuzla, Vahid ef. Fazlović. She never received a reply despite several follow-ups. Incidentally, the explanations go in the direction that Sharia law does not provide for this kind of grave arrangement.

"In an effort to respect all procedures, I turned to the Reis-ul-ulema, Husein ef. Kavazović. His secretary sent a response that can be summed up in a few words: that what I am asking for is not in accordance with the MIZ Kalesija Rulebook," says Alić.

When she saw that she could not achieve her wish through normal procedures, she found a worker who was supposed to install the surrounding area. However, during the work, Muharem ef. Mešanović – Vahidin, the imam from Prnjavor, came and, threatening to call the police, ordered the worker, in a harsh tone, to stop working, demolish everything that had been done, and leave the cemetery, which the worker did.

"After this incident, I hired a lawyer who sent a request to MIZ Kalesija for approval to build a tombstone with a surrounding area on my mother's grave. A reply never arrived. Later, I found other craftsmen who installed the marble surrounding area. But in December of last year, when I came with the craftsmen to also install the tombstones, I encountered unprecedented vandalism – the surrounding area on my mother's grave was completely destroyed. Everything was knocked down and scattered around the grave. Even the Chetniks did not do this during the occupation from May 14 to 23, 1992. They did not touch the graves," adds Alić.

She reported this act of vandalism to the Police Station in Kalesija, and through her lawyer, she filed a criminal complaint with the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Tuzla. Incidentally, the land on which the cemetery is located was the property of her father, Mustafa ef. Gazibegović, which was endowed as waqf by her brother, Smail Gazibegović.
