
In the building of the Cantonal Court and Prosecutor's Office of ZDK, the Witness Support Department was opened, for which funds were provided by the US Government and UNDP, and the ceremony was also attended by the American Ambassador Maureen Cormack, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The ceremony was also attended by Snježana Čolaković, President of the Cantonal Court of ZDK, Milan Tegeltija, President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, Miralem Galijašević, Prime Minister of ZDK, and Sezin Sinanoglu, UNDP Representative in BiH.
Before the opening of the Department, Ambassador Cormack held a meeting with Prime Minister Galijašević on the current political and economic situation in the ZDK area.
- The Victim and Witness Support Department is an extremely important step for the citizens of Zenica and ZDK. I believe that the establishment of this department is a very important step in creating a transparent and open judicial system. In this regard, the project is of exceptional importance and was realized thanks to the assistance of the American Embassy, UNDP, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, and the Cantonal Court in Zenica.
Ambassador Cormack will also hold a meeting today with representatives of Arcelor Mittal and Ekoforum, and will learn first-hand about the economic and environmental problems or any other issues that citizens face.
The value of the project is 104,000 US dollars.
