Summer tourist season in Sarajevo officially opened with a welcome Bosnian coffee

(Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, in cooperation with “Sarajevo Navigator” – a comprehensive guide to the destination Sarajevo, officially opened the summer tourist season in the heart of Sarajevo - at Baščaršija, with a welcome Bosnian coffee. With music and refreshments, visitors to Baščaršija were given free samples of the “Sarajevo Summer Fest” calendar and “Sarajevo Navigator” – which are full of information about events, tourist offers and attractions in Sarajevo Canton.

“We expect this to be a record summer tourist season. Symbolically, with coffee at Baščaršija, we want to welcome tourists and invite them to visit Sarajevo and, in addition to the recognizable Sarajevo tourist attractions, enjoy the numerous events that will take place this summer. Sarajevo will be the center of top-notch events – we have concerts and other outdoor music events, cultural and entertainment content, traditional and educational formats, gastronomic festivals ahead of us,” said Haris Fazlagić, President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.

Statistical data from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board show that the number of tourist visits in the first six months of this year (253,757) increased by 30.9% compared to the same period last year (193,853). The number of overnight stays in the first six months of this year (531,865) is 17.7% higher than in the first six months of last year (451,853).

"This year's statistical data show that a record summer tourist season is ahead of us," added Fazlagić.
