Insults, mobbing, hysteria: Employees' warning due to the director of TV Živinice

Employees of the Public Institution RTV Živinice recently held a press conference during their lunch break, from 10 to 10:30 AM. The press conference for journalists was held in front of the BKC building, where this public institution is located.

The reason for holding the press conference is dissatisfaction with the work and behavior of the director of JU RTV Živinice, Meliha Aličić. Aličić is closely associated with SDA. After the press conference, they issued a public statement, which we are transmitting in its entirety:

- JU RTV Živinice was founded during the media blockade in Bosnia and Herzegovina in May-June 1992, caused by the aggression against the state of BiH. It was registered as JU RTV Živinice in 1996. During that time until today, the engaged/employed staff have been at the height of their journalistic duties, providing timely and truthful information to the citizens of the municipality of Živinice for whom this House was founded and has been operating to this day. During that time, we went through a series of problems, from technical, personnel, and others, but we never gave up, but with enthusiasm and responsibility towards the work we honorably performed, we moved forward.

Often during that period, we worked with personal technical assistance to the House - without financial compensation. However, in the last three years, employees of JU RTV Živinice have been subjected to unprecedented mobbing and discrimination, individually and collectively, by the acting director and later the director, Meliha Aličić (who never completed the tender procedure with the consent of the Institution's founder, the Municipal Council of Živinice). At first, we "kept silent" for the sake of our media House, but also for our personal existence. The event of September 14, 2017, culminated, or "filled the cup.".

We, the employees of JU RTV Živinice, on September 14, 2017, in the premises of the Editorial Office of JU RTV Živinice, around 2 PM, experienced a severe outburst from the director of JU RTV Živinice, Ms. Meliha Aličić, when she showered the present colleagues with insults, insinuations, and threats, with hysterical screaming and slamming doors, without any provocation.

All present were taken aback and shocked by this inappropriate gesture of the director, and afterwards, some colleagues had to use sedatives and seek medical help. Furthermore, a police patrol had to intervene, which was very uncomfortable for everyone. Eleven employees (out of a total of 14), after such behavior from the Director (which has been continuous), held an emergency meeting at which a document - a petition - was created, requesting a joint meeting of the Mayor, the President of the Municipal Council of Živinice, the Management Board, the Director, the Editor, and the employees, so that everyone would be informed about the problem and an optimal solution could be reached.

A letter with the signatures of 11 employees was sent to all the aforementioned addresses. During that period, Mayor Kamenjaković held an informational meeting with the 11 employees who signed the document on September 15, 2017, in the premises of the municipality at 4 PM. The President of the Municipal Council, Hamdija Numanović, also held an informational meeting with the signed employees of JU RTV Živinice on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 7:15 AM. Given that no progress has been made in resolving the problems in our House in the period of 11 days, we are forced to take the steps allowed by law.

We inform you that the first step we have taken is a WARNING.

We have taken this unpopular, but for us, the first step towards resolving the issue of problem-solving, today, September 26, 2017, from 10 to 10:30 AM, so as not to disrupt the work process. The WARNING was issued during the break/in the parking lot of JU BKC Živinice, in whose building RTV Živinice is also located - according to the public statement of this media house.
