By introducing a freight line towards Našice, the Railways of the FBiH have unblocked Bosanska Krajina

The Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed with the partner railway operator PPD Transport  from Zagreb on the transport of around 20,000 tons of raw gypsum from the Gypsum Mine in Donji Vakuf to the cement plant Našicecement in Našice.

The Railways of the FBiH announced that this contract has practically unblocked Bosanska Krajina in terms of freight rail traffic, and with the establishment of the tourist train “Unska pruga” on July 7, and the completion of the electrification of this line, the blockade of passenger rail traffic towards Bihać will also be removed. 

- The planned dispatch of the first train composition of 18 wagons and about 1,000 net tons from the Kulen Vakuf railway station  is  July 1. Further dispatches of the total contracted quantity will be realized according to the planned dynamics of the user until the end of this year – announced by the Railways of the FBiH.

From this state-owned company, they state that this contracted transport represents a significant contribution to the further development of the railway sector in BiH, especially on the part of the line that territorially belongs to the area of the Una-Sana Canton.

- With this example, we have shown that we are the backbone of the development of this country. Our goal is the unblocking of Bosanska Krajina in transport and passenger rail traffic. In this way, the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will best fulfill their mission, which is the free and unimpeded flow of people and goods throughout the entire country - stated Enis Džafić, General Director of the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
