Results of repeated elections in Srebrenica and Doboj confirmed, appeal period begins

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Central Election Commission of BiH, at its 28th (extraordinary) session held today, adopted decisions confirming the election results for the Mayor of Doboj City and the Assembly of Doboj City, and the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality and the Assembly of Srebrenica Municipality held on 15.11.2020, and repeated elections held on February 21, 2021.

The aforementioned decisions on confirming and publishing the election results in Doboj and Srebrenica will enter into force on the day of adoption and will be published on February 25, 2021, on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH www.izbori.ba, and will be considered delivered to all participants in the election process on the day of their publication.

February 26, 27, and 28, 2021, are the three days for submitting requests for recounting ballot papers.

In accordance with Article 6.9, paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Election Law of BiH, an appeal against the decisions on confirming and publishing the election results in Doboj and Srebrenica can be filed through the Central Election Commission of BiH to the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH within two days from the date of publication of the decision on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH.

Requests for recounting ballot papers, objections to the published confirmed results, and appeals are to be submitted exclusively via fax to 033/251-329, by email to [email protected], or in person at the headquarters of the Central Election Commission of BiH (Sarajevo, Danijela Ozme 7 Street).

The protocol office of the Central Election Commission of BiH will also be open on the weekend, February 27 and 28, 2021, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

The procedure for submitting requests for recounting ballot papers is prescribed by the provisions of Article 5.30 of the Election Law of BiH.

The Central Election Commission of BiH may also order a recount of ballot papers ex officio.
