
(Patria) - The Committee for the awarding of the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" in 2024, at its Fifth
Session today, determined its work report and, together with the determined proposals for decisions on awarding the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" in 2024, submitted them to the City Council of the City of Sarajevo for consideration and final decision.
The public call for proposing candidates for this year was open for 45 days, until 01/25/2024. Within the period defined in the Public Call, 21 proposals with 7 supporting proposals for 15 candidates for the Award were submitted to the City Council of the City of Sarajevo.
The Committee, composed of: academician Kemal Hanjalić, prof. dr. Hadžan Konjo, Mirsada Murtić, dr.sc., prof. dr. Jasmina Selimović, prof. dr. Amela Mustafić and prof. dr. Ifet Mahmutović, and members of the City Council's Commission for Elections and Appointments: dr.sc. Mirela Džehverović, Biljana Lazarević, Muamer Mekić, Almedin Miladin, Drago Jurić, Adi Škaljić, who is also the Chairman of the Committee, and Vedad Deljković, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, reviewed the submitted proposals in accordance with the Decision on the conditions and manner of awarding the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" ("Official Gazette of Sarajevo Canton", numbers 41/22 and 49/22) and the adopted Rules of Procedure of the Committee.
The Committee determined the Report on its work for the City Council. Along with the Report, it also submitted the determined proposals of candidates for the awarding of the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" in 2024 to the City Council. The Committee proposed two candidates for the individual Award and two candidates for the collective Award.
For the individual Award, prof. dr. sci. Branislava Draženović, née Peruničić, was proposed for significant achievements and significant work results in the field of science and education, as the first-ranked candidate, and Zdravko Čolić, for significant achievements and significant work results in the field of culture and arts, as the second-ranked candidate. Čolić was nominated by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić.
For the collective Award, the Association "Renesansa" was proposed for significant achievements and significant work results in the field of healthcare and social protection, as the first-ranked candidate, and the Association "Council of Bosniak Intellectuals" for significant achievements and significant work results in other areas of work and creativity, as the second-ranked candidate.
The City Council of the City of Sarajevo will, in accordance with the Decision on the conditions and manner of awarding the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo", consider the Committee's proposals and make final decisions on the awarding of the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" in 2024 at a session planned for mid-March.
