Draft Public Investment Program of Tuzla Canton 2025-2027 Adopted

(Patria) - The Government of Tuzla Canton today adopted the Draft Public Investment Program of Tuzla Canton for the period 2025-2027. This three-year document provides an overview of investments in public investment projects, with consolidated data on total funds required and spent, as well as funds planned for project financing from the budget, loans, donations, and/or other sources.

As such, the Public Investment Program contains data on projects by sectors and project proposers, by type, method, and sources of financing over the three-year period according to the 1+2 principle, by locations where investments are realized, and data on project implementation according to goals defined by the strategic framework.

As announced by the Government of Tuzla Canton, the main goal of developing the Public Investment Program of Tuzla Canton is to align development projects with real sources of financing for their implementation.

A total of 116 projects have been included in the Draft Public Investment Program of Tuzla Canton for 2025-2027. Their total planned value amounts to BAM 390,796,319, of which BAM 117,030,046 relates to 65 nominated projects, and BAM 73,739,273 to 51 projects in implementation. It is planned that a total of BAM 156,007,757 will be needed for project implementation in the period 2025-2027, of which BAM 101,154,574 is for projects in implementation and BAM 54,853,184 for nominated projects.

In addition to the above, in accordance with the new methodology, 23 project ideas deemed strategically relevant, with a total value of BAM 74,841,627, have been included in the Draft Public Investment Program. Looking at the levels, out of a total of 1,116 projects, a total of 20 projects (10 in implementation and 10 nominated) from cantonal jurisdiction are proposed, and 96 projects (39 in implementation and 57 nominated) from the jurisdiction of local self-government units.

Analyzing the financing methods of the projects included in the Public Investment Program of Tuzla Canton for 2025-2027, we see that 86.26 percent of the funds are domestic, while 13.74 percent of the funds are from foreign sources of financing.

The Ministry of Economy will conduct consultations with all stakeholders in the process of preparing the Public Investment Program after the adoption of the draft, and will prepare this act in the form of a proposal.

Considering all of the above, the Public Investment Program of Tuzla Canton for 2025-2027 will be used as a basis for drafting the Tuzla Canton budget for 2025, as well as the next three-year Framework Budget Document of Tuzla Canton covering the planning period 2025-2027.

Also, at today's session, considering the appointment of new ministers, the cantonal government amended the Decision on the Appointment of the Commission for Personnel Affairs, and instead of the former Minister of Internal Affairs, Hajrudin Mehanović, appointed the newly appointed Minister Nedžad Bristrić to the Commission.

Within the scope of personnel matters, the Government today dismissed a member of the Supervisory Board of the Public Enterprise for Water Management Activities "Spreča" d.d. Tuzla. Also, Almir Žilić, the former director of the Cantonal Directorate of Commodity Reserves, was dismissed from this position before the end of his term, due to his appointment as Minister of Trade, Tourism, and Transport in the Government of Tuzla Canton.

Furthermore, the Government appointed Hasan Sejdinović as acting director of the Cantonal Directorate of Commodity Reserves, until the completion of the director appointment procedure through a public competition, and for a maximum of six months.

In addition to the above, the Government made several decisions on the dismissal and appointment of temporary school boards in primary and secondary schools in the Tuzla Canton area, it was announced from the Information Department of Tuzla Canton.
