Independent Bloc Initiatives to Solve Citizens' Real Problems Adopted

The Constitutional-Legal Committee of the BiH Parliament today supported important legal solutions and initiatives of the Independent Bloc that serve to solve the real problems of citizens in BiH, it was announced by that party, reports Patria News Agency.

Thanks to the positive opinion of the committee, the BiH Parliament will discuss the introduction of the category "self-employed" into all labor laws of the state, entities, and cantons, in order to legally enable citizens who work from home or are self-employed to have a regulated labor-legal status.

The Parliament will also, by decision of the Committee, discuss the Law on Excise Duties in BiH, which the Independent Bloc has been proposing since November last year, and which would reduce excise duties on fuel, thereby reducing fuel prices and thus reducing the daily costs of living for citizens.

The Committee for Budget and Finance adopted the Initiative of the Independent Bloc to direct 5% of the collected funds from excise duties on tobacco to entity Solidarity Funds, from which the treatment of the most serious diseases would be financed.

The adoption of such important proposals by the Independent Bloc opens up the possibility of concrete action.

- The Committee supported the initiative to introduce the category of 'self-employed' into BiH legislation, which would ensure legal work from home for those jobs that can do so, and integrate them into the system, ensuring health and pension insurance for such a category of people. With this proposal, we want to reduce undeclared work, bring a large number of capable people into legal channels, and help them tie their lives and future to their country. I believe that the House of Representatives will also support these proposals tomorrow – said Senad Šepić, president of the Independent Bloc and candidate for the BiH Presidency.

- From the very beginning, the Independent Bloc argued that the increase in excise duties, in the way the irresponsible government claimed, would not lead to the construction of roads in BiH. The only thing the excise duties have brought is an increase in the price of fuel, transportation, food, and living costs. Citizens cannot bear the burden of price increases alone. Reducing non-earmarked excise duties, which go into budgets and which have so far been spent on everything except road construction, can only lead to a reduction in costs for citizens, who are already living difficult lives – said Faruk Hadžić, macroeconomic analyst and holder of the list for the BiH Parliament.

Salko Sokolović, a representative in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, said that if the BiH Parliament adopts the Initiative of the Independent Bloc, the entity Solidarity Funds will receive 5% of the collected funds from excise duties on tobacco, which will provide them with additional financial resources for the treatment of our fellow citizens who are seriously ill. That is the least we can do for them, said Sokolović.
