Health Development Strategy of Sarajevo Canton Adopted for the Period until 2030.

(Patria) - The Assembly of Sarajevo Canton (KS) adopted today the Health Development Strategy of Sarajevo Canton for the period until 2030.

This key document represents a sectoral continuation of the general Development Strategy of KS and aims to significantly improve healthcare for all citizens through a clear vision of a modern and economically sustainable system.

- The strategy was developed through a broad and serious process. This is not a political document, but a professional development framework that answers the questions of how to make our healthcare system more accessible, higher quality, and long-term sustainable for all our citizens.

The development directions are clear: strengthening prevention and primary healthcare, better organization, focus on the patient, rational resource management, and implementation of digital solutions and smart systems for more efficient, faster, and safer health services - said the Minister of Health of KS, Enis Hasanović, in his address to the Assembly.

The document is aligned with the strategic goals of the European Union, which includes strengthening health security, supporting system transformation, improving the labor market for health workers, and responding to global challenges such as population aging and climate change.

The minister emphasized that the adoption of this Strategy does not require additional budget funds, but relies on responsible planning and continuity. Implementation will be carried out through three-year and annual work plans of the Ministry of Health, with clearly defined indicators and target values for each year.

On this occasion, Hasanović thanked Professor Aida Pilav, chairperson of the Working Group, as well as all eminent experts, health and other institutions and organizations, and professional chambers for their contribution to the development of this systemic solution.
