(Patria) - The working group in BiH, chaired by the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto, agreed on a List of Reforms with qualitative/quantitative steps for the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
The list of reforms, approved by the Working Group, is almost entirely aligned with the proposals of the European Commission, meaning over 97 percent of reform activities have been agreed upon with representatives of the European Commission and the EU Delegation to BiH.
The Directorate for Economic Planning of the Council of Ministers of BiH will forward the agreed List of Reforms to the European Commission today, in order to fulfill this ambitious plan within the agreed timeframe of 2024-2027.
The adoption of the List of Reforms for the Western Balkans Growth Plan will enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive approximately one billion euros from the European Commission, which will support reforms in numerous areas.
The goal is to enable stronger economic growth, ensure the rule of law, more functional institutions, as well as strengthen the business climate and preserve human resources in BiH.
Simultaneously, the reforms are aimed at creating conditions for ensuring sustainable (green) energy, digital transition, better IT infrastructure, including improving cybersecurity.
Krišto thanked the members of the Working Group in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union Delegation to BiH for their dedicated work during the harmonization of the reform agenda.
She emphasized that representatives of all levels of government in BiH are included in the Working Group and that in this way they have shown determination and commitment to the European path and constructive internal dialogue for the benefit of everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We remind that the European Commission previously presented the Western Balkans Growth Plan worth six billion euros for the period from 2024 to 2027, which would enable the countries of the region to significantly accelerate the enlargement process and economic growth by intensifying reforms.
