Report on the Implementation of the City of Sarajevo's Policy and the Mayor's Activities Adopted

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The City Council of Sarajevo, at its 26th session held today, chaired by Igor Gavrić, reviewed and adopted the Report on the work of the City Council of Sarajevo for 2018. The Report presents the work of the City Council of Sarajevo for 2018, as well as the work of the City Council's working bodies, the City Administration announced.

The Report on the Implementation of the City of Sarajevo's Policy and the Activities of the Mayor of Sarajevo for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2018, was adopted. The City of Sarajevo committed to the implementation of certain projects that made life in the city more pleasant and meaningful for the citizens of Sarajevo, and made the City of Sarajevo recognizable in the wider community (the Trebević cable car, creating preconditions for the construction of the ARS AEVI Museum of Contemporary Art, scholarships for high school students, preparation and organization of the EYOF 2019 Youth Olympic Games, etc.).

Subsequently, the Report on the work of the City of Sarajevo Ombudsman's Office for 2018, and the Report on the execution of the City of Sarajevo Budget for the previous year were adopted.

The Decision on amendments and supplements to the Decision on initiating the development of the Regulatory Plan "Quadrant C – Marijin Dvor" was adopted, with the aim of creating conditions for the construction of the ARS AEVI Museum of Contemporary Art.

The city councilors did not support the procedural proposal to consider the Decision on repealing the Decision on house rules in residential buildings in the form of a proposal, and the consideration of the Draft Decision was not included in the agenda of the session.

At today's session, the Decision on giving consent to the Decision on the reallocation of funds planned in the City of Sarajevo Budget for 2019 was adopted, which will implement the initiative of the City Council to provide scholarships to all students who applied to the announced call for scholarships and who meet the prescribed conditions.

Also, the Report on the implementation of the Decision on determining sports events of significance for the City of Sarajevo in 2018 was adopted. The city councilors considered the Draft Decision on marking the siege of Sarajevo, and, by conclusion, sent it to a public hearing lasting until April 29, 2019.

Among other things, the Committee for Social Activities submitted an initiative instructing the mayor to ensure, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, the placement of posters of the Kotromanić royal dynasty, by author Enver Imamović, in all primary and secondary schools in the Sarajevo Canton. This initiative was adopted and became an initiative of the City Council.
