Caravan owners donated mobile homes for residents who lost their homes in Petrinja and Glina

(Patria) - Caravan owners from Istria sent 16 equipped mobile homes towards Petrinja and Glina on Wednesday so that some residents of Petrinja and Glina would have a place to sleep. This is a humanitarian action initiated by Denis Bernobić from Poreč, the owner of a local towing service, together with the owner of the small family camp Polidor near Funtana, Adrian Ukušić, reports Jutarnji.hr

- Private caravan owners responded to the action, and among them were even some Germans who own a caravan in the Bijela Uvala camp near Poreč. They called me and said they were donating it with all the papers. People immediately started calling like crazy from all over Istria, so this is just the first contingent - says Bernobić, who set off for Petrinja and Glina on Wednesday with colleagues in 8 trucks, 7 jeeps, and 2 vans. He adds that the mobile homes are being driven directly to people who have been left homeless and slept outside last night, and they have everything - from sanitary facilities and beds to heating.

- The mobile homes are also full of drinks and food, there are even wood-burning stoves and wood inside, a van is full of bedding. Everyone helped us equip the mobile homes, and the Red Cross from Poreč and Rovinj were particularly active, and I thank them for that - says Bernobić, whose phone won't stop ringing.

- They keep calling me on all platforms because people want to donate their mobile homes. So we will be driving towards Petrinja and Glina in the coming days. We expect to deliver about 40 mobile homes to the affected areas in the next few days. Colleagues from Koper and Slovenia who have towing services are also contacting me to help us transport the mobile homes there - points out Bernobić, who undertook a similar action with Ukušić when Gunja was flooded.
