Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejects appeal regarding excise law

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected the request of nineteen deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a review of the constitutionality of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Excises in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina established that the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Excises in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Payments to a Single Account and Distribution of Revenues, and the Law on Amendments to the Law on the System of Indirect Taxation in Bosnia and Herzegovina are in accordance with Articles I/2, IV and V/4 of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina," reads the statement of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The signatories of the appeal earlier stated that the set of excise laws was adopted in the two houses of the BiH Parliament in different texts and with violations of the procedures of the House of Representatives. They requested from the Constitutional Court of BiH a temporary measure that would suspend the application of the amended Law on Excises. The Court rejected such a request, Patria writes.
