CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF BiH: No public statements on current constitutional-legal issues until further notice

Due to increased interest from the media, and the wider public in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond, concerning the Constitutional Court of BiH's decision from November 2015 which established the unconstitutionality of the provision of the Law on Holidays of RS regarding January 9th as the Day of Republika Srpska, and the request of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska for its review, as well as concerning several requests for resolving the "constitutional dispute" between BiH and the entity RS submitted in recent days to the Constitutional Court of BiH, the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirsad Ćeman, has in the past period explained procedural aspects to a larger number of interested media outlets, i.e., the procedure related to the aforementioned constitutional-legal issues (including whether, when, and with what agenda the Constitutional Court will convene).

Considering that the next plenary session of the Constitutional Court is scheduled for September 17, 2016, and that the proposed agenda in a certain way includes the above-mentioned issues, thereby providing the public with sufficient information about the course of the procedure until the session is scheduled, the Constitutional Court informs the public that it will not provide further information regarding these issues until further notice, reports Patria.

In accordance with the Rules of the Constitutional Court, the public will be timely informed about the decisions that the Constitutional Court will make on these and other constitutional-legal issues it will consider.
