Success of young BiH physicists: Returned from India with silver and bronze

At the 46th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2015) for secondary school students, held this year in India from July 5 to 12, young physicists from Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved the greatest success so far since our country has been participating in this competition, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

In competition with 84 countries and over 380 students from around the world, our team won one silver and one bronze medal, as well as two Honorable Mentions.

The silver medal was won by Bahrudin Trbalić (International Secondary School, Tuzla), while the bronze medal was won by Nermedin Džeković (International Secondary School, Sarajevo). This is the third silver and fifth bronze medal overall for our country at the International Physics Olympiad.

Naida Dedić (Gimnazija “Visoko”, Visoko) and Ajdin Palavrić (First Gymnasium, Zenica) received Honorable Mentions.

The departure of our team to the International Physics Olympiad was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, as well as HIFA Oil Tešanj, AN Projekt Doboj Jug, Velfarm Gračanica, Ekoservis Tešanj, Master Fashion Travnik, Ganjgoline Doboj Jug, MBA Usora, Kamenorezac Doboj Jug, and HIFA Petrol Sarajevo.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Tuzla Canton refused to finance the departure of the young physicists.
