Migrant camps Miral and Bira to be closed soon and relocated from urban areas

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - More than seven thousand migrants are located in the Una-Sana Canton.

However, according to BHRT information, migrants have not been arriving in this canton for the past two weeks after police control at the entrance to the canton was intensified.

BHRT also reports that the issue of migrants from the Bira and Miral camps and their relocation outside urban areas is close to being resolved, which is one of the agreements from yesterday's meeting of state and cantonal authorities.

The first step is the relocation of unaccompanied minor migrants from Bira, after an adequate location is found, and other migrants will be relocated to the Lipa camp.

An exact location has not been defined for migrants from Miral.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has requested the Council of Ministers to submit a detailed plan as soon as possible and for migrants to be relocated outside urban and populated areas.

The request was also to allocate five million marks from the budget reserves for this purpose.
