New pedestrian path and staircase coming soon in Asim Ferhatović Street

Rehabilitation of pedestrian paths and stairs at 5 Asim Ferhatović Street, for which the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo allocated 24,830 KM from its budget for regular maintenance of stairs and railings in 2015, began a few days ago, reports the Patria news agency.  

The framework agreement on investment and technical maintenance of stairs and railings, on behalf of the Municipality of Centar, was signed by Mayor Dževad Bećirević with the director of the company „Sela“ d.o.o., Sead Tutić.

According to Mesud Zimić, construction site manager of the company „Sela“, the works are proceeding according to plan, and the completion of the mentioned project is expected in the coming week.

-So far, our workers have demolished the dilapidated concrete paths and stairs. Also, a base layer has been laid, after which the paths were concreted. The installation of paving slabs is underway, after which a pedestrian railing will also be installed, said Zimić.

Residents of this street praised the project of the Municipality of Centar and emphasized that its implementation means a lot to them.

-We are very satisfied because we will now have a tidy and much easier access to the building, given that we live in an urban environment. People here used to fall and break their arms because there were no stairs or handrails, and of course we are happy and grateful to Mayor Bećirević and the Municipality of Centar for implementing this project, highlighted resident Sofija Sijerčić, announced by the Municipality of Centar.
