Flights from Tuzla to Istanbul Soon

(Patria) - Months-long activities on establishing new partnerships and airline routes from Tuzla International Airport are starting to yield results.

For the first time since its existence, direct routes will be established from the airport in Tuzla to Turkey's largest city - Istanbul.

From sources in the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Hayat.ba has learned that two well-known Turkish airlines will establish regular flights between Tuzla and Istanbul.

The implementation is planned for September at the latest, but it is expected that the first passengers from Tuzla could fly to the city on the Bosphorus even earlier.

Although the Turkish ministry has not revealed which airlines are involved, it is quite certain that one of them is AJet (AnadoluJet).

Namely, at the end of May, the Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton, Irfan Halilagić, hosted one of AJet's directors.



During his visit, the guest from AJet also toured Tuzla International Airport, where he met with director Dževad Halilčević and the airport delegation.

After being presented with the airport's capacities and capabilities, the AJet director prepared a positive report on establishing a partnership and Tuzla-Istanbul flights.

The second airline that will establish flights from Tuzla is also a privately owned Turkish air carrier.

In addition to regular lines between Tuzla and Istanbul this year, starting next year, flights to the popular destination of Antalya will also be available four times a week from Tuzla International Airport.

Although there are no official confirmations from the Government of Tuzla Canton yet, it is quite certain that the arrival of two air carriers in Tuzla is the result of the visit of this canton's delegation, led by Prime Minister Halilagić, to Ankara and Istanbul in early May.

We remind you that after the meeting at the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Prime Minister Halilagić stated:

"One of the priorities of the Government of Tuzla Canton is Tuzla International Airport. We say this and, indeed, we are proving it.

The quality functioning of an airport, its stable, sustainable, and profitable operation is challenging, not only in Tuzla but anywhere in the world.

Therefore, it is of utmost importance to develop business relationships with those who have experience and the necessary resources in this field. That is, with those who can help us.

Turkey and the delegation with whom we spoke today are certainly one of the most important addresses where we are looking for sincere partners.

This visit and sincere conversation with our friends were encouraging, and I hope, I believe that we will soon see and rejoice together in the fruits of today's discussions".

The news about connecting Tuzla and Istanbul, as well as Antalya, comes at a time of difficult operations for Tuzla International Airport.

Therefore, establishing cooperation with AJet comes at a good time and is expected to mark the beginning of a new, successful chapter for the International Airport in Tuzla, as well as for the entire TK."
