USK Bankrupt, It Remains Unclear When a New Government Will Be Formed

The Una-Sana Canton has gone bankrupt, and it remains uncertain whether a new government will be formed after three months, writes the Patria News Agency.

The deadline for the mandate holder Izudin Saračević is to submit the list of new candidates for ministers by tomorrow. If he fails to do so, the Speaker of the Una-Sana Canton Assembly, Farko Hodžić, will revoke his mandate, and the process of forming the government will start all over again.  

And so, after negotiations, the formation of one coalition SDA, DF, and Labourists, its dissolution, and the formation of a new SDA and A-SDA coalition in Krajina, nothing is yet certain.

After the three parties formed the initial partnership, Saračević submitted a list of candidates for ministerial positions - the Prime Minister and 4 ministries for SDA, 4 ministries for the Democratic Front, and one for the Labourists.

Just before the Assembly session, where the new government was supposed to be confirmed, the coalition was dissolved, and a new one was formed between SDA and A-SDA. These two parties have enough representatives, so they do not need a third partner to form the government, although they offered DF to join them, but the party refused.

However, even with only two parties remaining, problems have arisen again because A-SDA is demanding more ministerial positions than they are entitled to based on the election results.

Therefore, it is uncertain whether the Una-Sana Canton will have a new government tomorrow.

While political games surrounding the formation of the government are ongoing, budget beneficiaries in the Una-Sana Canton have only received November salaries, which are literally being paid out drop by drop.
