Awards Presented to Winners of the Competition 'I Create Change, I Fight Corruption'

On Friday, December 9, International Anti-Corruption Day, U.S. Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack presented awards to the winners of the video competition "I Create Change, #I Fight Corruption", Patria reports.

The winners of the competition, Amina Hodžić from Sarajevo's Dobrinja Gymnasium and Žarko Plaić from the Banja Luka Medical High School, each received an iPhone 7. The second-place winners, Adel Nikšić and Amer Šehić from the Sarajevo Dental Technical High School, received an iPad Air 2 each, and the third-place winners, Velid Hatić and Elmin Brguljasević from the Behram-begova Medresa in Tuzla, received an iPad mini each.

On this occasion, Ambassador Cormack emphasized that the problem of corruption is difficult and complicated in every society and that, among others, young and creative people, like the winners of this competition, can prevent corruption through their engagement and make Bosnia and Herzegovina a better place to live.

The Ambassador praised the creativity, thoughtfulness, and positive approach of the winning videos and noted that among the 117 excellent videos received, it was truly difficult to choose the winners.

The Embassy of the United States of America organized the competition for high school students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of marking Anti-Corruption Week. The students were tasked with creating an innovative and original video lasting 90 seconds on the topic “What can I do to fight corruption in my everyday life, school, and community?”
