Incorrect Data on Employee Diplomas Submitted to Sarajevo Canton Anti-Corruption Office

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Office for Combating Corruption and Quality Management of Sarajevo Canton (Office) is conducting a verification/audit of diplomas of employees in the public sector of Sarajevo Canton. This is an extremely important activity aimed at uncovering and prosecuting potential abuses of qualifications data for employment and advancement in the KS public sector.

The diploma verification activity was initiated by the Office and mandated by the Government of Sarajevo Canton through a Conclusion.

"The diploma verification process is carried out based on the collection of data (diplomas) on completed qualifications, which are submitted to the Office by public sector institutions for their employees. The Office then forwards these to educational institutions that issued the diplomas for verification of authenticity. Educational institutions were not able to confirm the authenticity of diplomas in all cases, and for a small portion of such cases, it was later determined that employers had initially submitted incorrect data about their employees.

Such discrepancies in employee diploma data can be the result of coincidence or unintentional oversight by the person responsible for submitting the data to the Office. However, it can also have characteristics of intentional, organized concealment of data about a particular person's diploma and may contain elements of disciplinary and criminal liability.

Given the above, we hereby draw the attention of the public sector institutions of Sarajevo Canton to submit accurate and verifiable data on the diplomas/qualifications of their employees to the Office, so that we can carry out this activity together in the best possible way and achieve the desired results.
