Office for Combating Corruption Presents Analysis of Anti-Corruption Environment in Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Office for Combating Corruption of Sarajevo Canton will today present the Analysis of the Anti-Corruption Environment in the public sector of this canton for 2021.

The presentation will be held at the Courtyard Hotel (Ul. Skenderija 1, Sarajevo), starting at 11:00 AM. 

The Office for Combating Corruption and Quality Management of Sarajevo Canton strives to resolve the problem of corruption in the public sector with a strategic approach in the context of strengthening the anti-corruption system of Sarajevo Canton. In performing its duties, the Office conducts various analyses of basic public sector processes and activities in order to propose adequate and systemic solutions in areas and processes with pronounced corruption risks. 

As announced, in order to promote transparency as one of the fundamental anti-corruption prerequisites, and to inform the public about the basic processes and activities in the area of building an anti-corruption system in Sarajevo Canton, the Office published the Analysis of the Anti-Corruption Environment in the Public Sector of Sarajevo Canton at the end of 2020. Based on the positive effects achieved by the aforementioned analysis, the Office prepared the Analysis of the Anti-Corruption Environment in the Public Sector of Sarajevo Canton for 2021 in January of this year. 

The analysis for 2021 was created with the intention that each of its chapters can be viewed and analyzed as a whole. However, in order to understand the problem of corruption and its consequences, it is necessary to consider this analysis in its entirety and gain a broader picture of the issues it addresses. The main goals of preparing this analysis were educational, preventive, and corrective. Each subsequent analysis will serve for comparison with the previous one as a corrective measure. 

The results and achievements to date in building an anti-corruption system in Sarajevo Canton have been achieved in active cooperation with international community organizations in our country. In this context, this public presentation is also organized in cooperation with the INL program of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
