Sarajevo Canton Government Office for Support to Srebrenica: KM 750,000 for Sustainable Return

(Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Government Office for Support to Srebrenica has announced three public calls, namely for support of investments, support of sustainable return activities, and support for sustainable return for parents, children, pupils, and students in the Srebrenica area.

The subject of the first public call is the financing/co-financing of investments in the area of this local self-government unit.

This public call will support the best-rated projects, programs, and activities aimed at the economic development of Srebrenica, with the goal of economic development of the area and encouraging the sustainable return of the population.

Funds for implementation have been secured in the KS budget for 2025 in the total amount of KM 150,000.

Business companies, crafts, cooperatives, and farms based or with a registered branch in the eastern Bosnia region (territory of today's municipalities of Srebrenica, Bratunac, Milići, Vlasenica, Han Pijesak, Sokolac, Zvornik, Osmaci, Višegrad, and Rogatica) are eligible to apply.

The second public call relates to the support of sustainable return activities in the Srebrenica area.

This public call will support the best-rated projects, programs, and activities aimed at encouraging the sustainable return of the population, healthcare, support for persons with special needs, activities related to the fight against discrimination, hate speech, civic organizing, and other areas that have a positive impact on the quality of life and development of the area.

The funds allocated by this public call are secured in the total amount of KM 500,000, and associations of citizens and foundations registered in the Srebrenica area are eligible to apply.

The third public call is intended for the support of sustainable return for parents, children, pupils, and students in the Srebrenica area, in accordance with the provisions of the Sarajevo Canton Law on Special Programs for the Memorialization of Genocide, Support for Return and Development of Srebrenica, and Assistance to Victims and Families of Victims of Genocide against Bosniaks in the UN Protected Zone "Srebrenica", in the form of one-time assistance for the birth of a child, parents with preschool children, primary and secondary school pupils, students, and parents with three or more children.

Entitlement to one-time assistance under this public call can only be exercised on one basis, and depending on the number of applicants who meet the conditions, the amount of funds per beneficiary may be adjusted to realize the planned funds.
