Office of Disciplinary Prosecutor: Case Opened Against Goran Salihović

The Office of the Chief Disciplinary Prosecutor of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council has opened a case against Chief State Prosecutor Goran Salihović, confirmed for N1, reports the BH news agency Patria.

As stated by the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Prosecutor of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, applying Article 70, Paragraph 2 of the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina has registered a case against the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Goran Salihović.

- The aforementioned case of the Office was registered ex officio in accordance with the competence of the Office under Article 64, Paragraph 2 of the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, based on media reports containing allegations of a possible breach of duty by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Goran Salihović - they stated for N1 in this institution.

The Office will, in accordance with Article 66 of the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, undertake necessary actions to investigate the allegations of breach of duty by the named holder of a judicial function, and noted that the Office is obliged, in accordance with Article 70, Paragraph 1 of the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to act in accordance with the principle of confidentiality until a decision is made in the said case.

- Regarding other complaints about breaches of duty by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, received by the ODP in the period from February 1, 2013 to December 31, 2015, the ODP can confirm that in the said period it received six complaints from various complainants, with various allegations of breach of duty by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, of which, after examining the allegations of the complaints, decisions were made in four cases dismissing the complaints, about which the complainants were informed. Two cases are in progress based on the remaining mentioned complaints - it was announced from this institution.
