Urban and Cultural Center: Mixer House Opened in Sarajevo

After several months of renovation, Mikser House, a regional center for urban culture, has opened in Sarajevo's Pofalići neighborhood. Numerous artists, cultural workers, citizens, diplomats, and politicians gathered in the renovated space of the former Vaso Miskin Crni factory, reports Patria News Agency.

The Balkan Design Shop has also opened at Mikser House, where works by the best Balkan designers will be available for viewing and purchase.

Within this unique space, the "Frederic Maurice" gallery has been opened, named after the delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who was killed in an attack on a humanitarian convoy in Sarajevo in 1992. On that occasion, Ivan Lalić, then an employee of the ICRC and now the director of Mikser, was seriously wounded. The gallery features the exhibition "25 Years Dedicated to Humanity," with which the ICRC marks 25 years of continuous presence and work in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to urban and cultural events, concerts will also be held.

In its five years of operation, Mikser House in Belgrade has become a cultural catalyst that uncompromisingly advocates for a different cultural paradigm in the Balkans than the one inherited from the 1990s.
