Analysis of anti-corruption mechanisms conducted for 10 municipalities

Transparency International BiH (TI BiH) is organizing a press conference to present a study titled Assessment of the Local Integrity System (LIS assessment), which was conducted in 10 local self-government units in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency.

This assessment was carried out within the framework of an EU-funded project titled "Strengthening Integrity and Good Governance for More Effective Implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy in BiH from Local to State Level" and involves an analysis of anti-corruption mechanisms at the municipal level, i.e., the system of integrity and accountability, both in terms of the legal framework and practice.

On this occasion, the key findings of the LIS assessment for the municipalities of Gračanica, Goražde, Novi Grad Sarajevo, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Teslić, Travnik, Visoko, the City of Bijeljina, the City of Mostar, and Brčko District BiH will be presented.

The assessment was conducted in accordance with the methodology developed by Transparency International, which has been tested in Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Africa. This is the largest LIS assessment conducted so far, as it for the first time covers as many as 10 local self-government units within a single country.

The presentation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Hotel Europe in Sarajevo, starting at 10:00 AM.
