Management Board Discussed with BHRT Union: 60 Percent of Employees Earn Less Than 800 KM Monthly, Hiring Difficulties

(Patria) - The BHRT Management Board met with representatives of the Representative Union on Friday to discuss the financial situation of employees.

It was reiterated that 60 percent of employees earn less than 800 KM per month, that there is an outflow of workers and difficulties in hiring new ones due to minimal salaries at this RTV house.

Representatives of the union organization presented their demands to the members of the Management Board, and further joint steps were discussed, which are necessary to re-inform the executive and legislative authorities about the unresolved and newly emerged problems at BHRT, and to remind them that a functional and sustainable public television is one of the conditions for Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into the European Union.

Following the meeting with the Union representatives, a regular session of the Management Board was held, at which the planning documents for 2025 were adopted: the Financial Plan and the Program Plan. It was concluded that the annual plans are being made under extremely unfavorable circumstances, as stable financing for this public service is not in sight. Losses are accumulating because there is still no solution for the unpaid multi-million KM revenues from the RTV fee. Furthermore, the amount of the RTV fee has not been adjusted for inflation since 2013, due to the non-functioning of the system's Committee for reasons already known to the public and the founders' representatives.

Due to the retirement of the current director of BHT 1, Mario Vrankić, the Management Board authorized Neda Tadić, editor of the Religious Program, to perform the function of director of BHT 1 until the completion of the application procedure for this position.

The Management Board also gave its consent to the election and appointment of program editors at BH Radio 1 and BHT 1.

Following the completed application procedure, Davor Stipić was appointed editor of the Information Program of BHR 1, Adnan Ljubović is the editor of the Sports Program, and Vedran Prodić is the editor of the Music Program.

Dejan Petrović is the editor of the Information Program of BHT 1, Medina Šehić is the editor of the Sports Program, and Srđan Šarenac is the editor of the Documentary and Contemporary Program.

The appointed candidates will be confirmed after the six-month probationary period, according to the statement from the BHRT Management Board.
