SCC management announces layoffs of cleaning staff, workers prepare lawsuits!

The management of Sarajevo City Center (SCC) has announced the layoff of nearly 30 cleaning ladies, and for the building's cleaning needs, they will hire an external company whose workers will take care of almost 70,000 square meters of this center on Marijin Dvor, as revealed to the news agency Patria by the embittered workers of the company.

The management of one of the most beautiful buildings in Sarajevo offered the cleaning ladies, they claim, a mutual termination of contracts! Several of them agreed to the terms, figuring that their hours at SCC were numbered sooner or later, while more than a dozen workers sought help from lawyers and the Union of Trade and Service Workers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lawyer Mersija Mešanović confirmed to Patria that several cleaning ladies from SCC have sought her professional help, fearing layoffs. Confirmation was also given to Patria by Fikret Plivčić from the Union of Trade and Service Workers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from whom SCC's cleaning ladies also sought help.

- These women still have not received written notice that layoffs are being prepared. If this happens, the Union will do everything to protect the workers, that is, in that case, the law will be applied literally – said Plivčić for NAP.

SCC is one of the largest business centers in Sarajevo, comprising a commercial and office section, a luxury hotel, a large parking garage, and a shopping center. A city within a city, as SCC is called, was created after the partner group Al Shiddi Trading Establishment from Riyadh and Al Shiddi International from Sarajevo bought the Bosnian textile and trading company Magros.

However, the Center itself has been accompanied by various controversies since the beginning of construction, from the fact that the construction site was bought at a price below any standard, to the claim that behind the whole story stands the highest state leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President of SDA, Bakir Izetbegović.
