(Patria) - The junior selections of futsal clubs Brotnjo and Željezničar played a derby over the past weekend that fully lived up to expectations. Spectators in Čitluk witnessed a real goal fest and as many as 16 goals in an 8-8 draw, but the main story of the match was actually the humane gesture of the hosts, which delighted the sports public in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The management of MNK Brotnjo demonstrated what true sportsmanship, respect and hospitality mean. For the juniors of Željezničar, many of whom were fasting during the match, the hosts prepared food and drink for iftar.
From Futsal Club Željezničar, they did not hide their delight at this move and publicly thanked their sports rivals via social media.
"We thank MNK Brotnjo for the exceptional hospitality before and during the match of our juniors. The management of Brotnjo also prepared iftar for our juniors who were fasting," it was announced from the Sarajevo club.
When it comes to the sports competition itself, the match was extremely uncertain until the last minute. Although the home team Brotnjo put in an excellent performance, in the end they failed to overcome the current champion, the Željezničar team.
Nevertheless, the hosts were satisfied with the point earned as they remained undefeated in the championship. The club states that their main goal this season remains winning the title, and they hope to succeed in "dethroning" the Sarajevo blues.
Scorers:
For Brotnjo: Niko Šapina (two goals), and Franjo Sivrić, Filip Galić, Niko Biokšić, Jakov Milićević, Daniel Prskalo and Toma Prusina.
For Željezničar: Admin Omanović (hat-trick), and Adin Kahriman, Bakir Bajraktarević, Dino Tabaković, Faris Macić and Emrah Husić.
