Management of the Catholic School Center in Bihać suspends classes, employees' salaries three months late

The management of the Catholic School Center "Ivan Pavao II" in Bihać has suspended classes at this school, after teachers and staff did not receive their salaries, writes Patria. 

The Government of the Una-Sana Canton is obliged to pay the salaries of the employees of the Catholic School Center "Ivan Pavao II", but the Government is not fulfilling its obligations. The Government owes the employees of the Catholic School Center three salaries.

- According to the Agreement from 2014, the Government of the Una-Sana Canton committed to financing only the salaries and benefits of the employees of the Catholic School Center (without electricity, heating, telephone costs, etc.) in accordance with the Pedagogical Standards and Norms for Secondary Education - the Catholic School Center announced, adding further.

- To date, the Government of the Una-Sana Canton has not paid the salaries to the employees for September 2016. The Government has paid salaries to all other budget users, and ours has been suspended without any written explanation. We have had several discussions with the Government and the Ministry, but they have not yielded results.

The Catholic School Center states that they regret that the suspension of classes had to happen, "but the employees cannot work in December, and they have not even been paid fair compensation for September," writes NAP.
