Employees of the US Embassy visited Klas

Bosnia and Herzegovina's food industry Klas d.d. Sarajevo hosted employees of the United States Embassy in Sarajevo today, along with their children, reports the Patria news agency.

The guests toured Klas's production facilities in Sarajevo, including the Mill, Velepekara (large bakery), and the Sarko facility for the production of confectionery products.

Visitors had the opportunity to observe the process of milling and flour production in one of the largest mills in this part of Europe.

They were particularly impressed by the tour of the bakery, where they had the chance to see the line production of bread. On that occasion, they witnessed the production of somun (flatbread), jufka (phyllo dough sheets), and various cakes, tasting warm somun directly from the production line.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Sarko facility, where, among other things, Bosnian lokum (Turkish delight) is produced. Guests had the opportunity to directly see the line production of this traditional Bosnian product, and the manager of this facility also organized a small tasting of Bosnian lokum, Jare (a type of pastry), Čajni kolutići (tea biscuits), and Vanilice (vanilla cookies).
