Employees of Mostar Airport hold warning strike

MOSTAR, (Patria) - The Union of Employees of the Mostar International Airport held a warning strike today from 9 to 11 AM due to non-compliance with the agreement between the management and the Union, which was reached after the first strike held in April.

The Union demands the opening of negotiations on a collective agreement, the adoption of a job classification system, an increase in reduced salaries, payment for standby time, payment of jubilee awards, and an end to the practice of paying part of the income in cash.

- For six or seven years, we have not been paid anything according to the law, no night hours, weekends, Sundays. We have no night hours because we have no passengers. In 2016, we had 75,000, in 2017, 40,000, and this year 8,500 passengers - said the President of the Union of the Mostar International Airport, Darko Buntić.

If their demands are not met, the Union of the Mostar International Airport has announced the possibility of launching a general strike.

The management says they have invited the unionists four times to sign the collective agreement and claim they are doing their utmost to fulfill their obligations within the current possibilities.

- We have finalized the financial structure and a salary increase of 200 KM - said the Director of Mostar Airport, Marin Raspudić.
