(Patria) - Ahead of the session of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH, which will be held on Thursday, January 16, and at which the Draft Law on the gas pipeline "South Interconnection BiH and Croatia" will be considered, and whose adoption is opposed by HDZ BiH, which did not support this law in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, a meeting took place between US Ambassador Michael Murphy and BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković.
Although the US Embassy did not announce details or topics of the conversation, it is clear that broad support from both the government and the opposition is needed for the adoption of this law in the House of Peoples.
Great meeting today with BiH Foreign Minister @DinoKonakovic, who has been a steadfast partner in our joint work to strengthen the U.S.-BiH bilateral relationship.

Before the session of the House of Peoples, Our Party also made a statement, emphasizing that the Law was adopted in the House of Representatives with their amendments, which they worked on with domestic and international experts and with the participation of representatives of both the government and the opposition.
"The amendments that were adopted made the Law constitutional, implementable, and effective. First and foremost, they provide for the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision concerning state property. Other issues have also been defined, such as the formation of the Commission for granting urban planning consent, land expropriation, issuing environmental permits, etc. We are also pleased with the fact that the conclusions adopted in the House of Representatives, which concern the reconstruction of that company in order to better implement and manage the South Interconnection project, have started to be realized," stated Our Party.
They called on all delegates in the House of Peoples to be guided by the importance of this project for the entire country, as it contributes to energy independence, which is very important primarily for the citizens, but also for the geopolitical positioning of BiH, especially on the path towards EU and NATO integration.
"Our future, economic, energy, political, and all other aspects, are woven into the text of this law," said Our Party.
