Unsko-Sanski Canton declares state of natural disaster

BIHAĆ, (Patria) - At the proposal of the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters, the Government of the Unsko-Sanski Canton, at a session held today (March 20), made a Decision on declaring a state of natural disaster in the area of the Unsko-Sanski Canton, for the protection and rescue of people from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

"All cantonal ministries, independent cantonal administrations, administrative organizations, public institutions and organizations, as well as public enterprises and other legal entities, and competent municipal civil protection headquarters are obliged to make all resources available to the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters, which will be used in the endangered areas according to the plans for the protection and rescue of people and material goods. All cantonal ministries, independent cantonal administrations, administrative organizations, public institutions and organizations are obliged to immediately organize work in order to execute the orders of the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters. The Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters is instructed to, in accordance with the identified needs in the endangered areas, engage appropriate cantonal, city, and municipal protection and rescue services, as well as other legal entities, public enterprises, and citizens."

The Crisis Headquarters of the Cantonal Ministry of Health, Labor, and Social Policy of the Unsko-Sanski Canton continues its work by providing support and proposing preventive and other measures to the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters in preventing and mitigating the consequences caused by the novel coronavirus.

Costs incurred by the engagement of the Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters, Cantonal Protection and Rescue Services, and additional planned engagement of missing resources during the implementation of protection and rescue actions for people in endangered areas will be covered from the funds of the special fee for protection from natural and other disasters, as well as from other financial sources in accordance with valid regulations.

The Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters is tasked to, in accordance with its authorities, take over all coordination and leadership activities of protection and rescue actions in the endangered area from the moment this Decision enters into force, until the Decision on the termination of the state of natural disaster is made. The Cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters and the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration are obliged to regularly report on the measures taken to the Government of the Unsko-Sanski Canton and other bodies in accordance with laws and other regulations.

The Prime Minister of USK, by virtue of his office as commander of the USK Civil Protection Headquarters, Mustafa Ružnić, appeals to citizens to adhere to the recommendations and measures, especially those who have been ordered to self-isolate, so as not to endanger the health of other citizens.
